The Gerry Kelleher-trained veteran Macs Legend showed that age was no barrier to success as the 14-year-old took 22-year-old rider Adam Feeney to the first double of his career in the Barryroe Co-Op & Chris McCarthy Greenbuild novice riders' open.

Macs Legend, a three-time hunter chase winner who was posting an eighth success in points, got into a lovely rhythm close to the pace and the recent Knockanard runner-up effortlessly coasted clear on the descent to the last to beat Solomn Grundy by ten lengths in the colours of Shane Prenderville.
