The biggest cheer at a sun-soaked Lingstown was reserved for Earl Of Desmond after his success in the Rostoonstown Stud winners-of-two contest, as the seven-year-old is trained by Billy Codd, one of the landowners at the track.
The Basil Holian-owned gelding came into the race after victories at Carrigarostig and Tinahely and there was no sign of that run coming to an end as he mastered the recent Farmacaffley winner Gunnery Officer on the run-in to pull two lengths clear by the line.
