The nominees have been announced for this year’s HRI Awards and the point-to-point category will once again be hotly contested, with Colin Bowe, Sam Curling and Barry O’Neill all nominated.

Bowe was crowned champion handler last season, as he continues his domination of that category, having won it seven times over the last 12 years. His total of 45 winners for the Wexford-based handler was a personal best.

Fellow trainer Sam Curling sent out Longhouse Music to win 13 races last season, a record-breaking total which saw her not only share the champion pointer award with Kruzhlinin, but also claim the
champion mare prize.
