This week's resumption of racing presents the sport with a "once-in-a-generation opportunity" according to Michael Dugher, the chief executive of the Betting and Gaming Council.

"I'm really excited that the first live sport to come back is horseracing," says Dugher. "I think it's fantastic news for every part of racing, the courses, the horsemen, it's so vital for so many communities, especially rural communities.

"I think getting it back is going to give the country such a boost and I think we need it at the moment. I also think there's a once-in-a-generation opportunity for racing to introduce itself to a new set of people."
