Many racecourse bookmakers are unhappy after the body responsible for administering on-course betting raised fees for some meetings by nearly 300 per cent.

Administration of Gambling on Tracks Ltd (AGT) is increasing the fee paid by bookmakers in minor rings at 'premium meetings' to £23 a day from £8 from March 1 to mirror the price paid in the main rings.

AGT said the changes meant it would be able to hold its administration fees at the 2019 rate of £23 in Tattersalls and the rails and £8 in minor rings outside 43 premium days.
