The 2017-18 jumps season ended at Sandown on Saturday when Nicky Henderson, one of Lambourn's favourite sons, was crowned champion trainer for a fifth time.

It may seem a modest total for one of the sport's most capable and charismatic operators alongside the ten titles Paul Nicholls has or the whopping 15 the legendary Martin Pipe accrued, but Henderson has always been about quality over quantity – and there has been plenty of the former this term.
