Has the action at Kempton and Leopardstown altered your Gold Cup thinking?

Pat Cooney, bet365 I’m still no nearer to knowing the winner. I suppose any 21-length winner of the King George ought to be an easy decision, but as good as Clan Des Obeaux looked, his main rivals did underperform. As for the Savills Chase, I thought Presenting Percy showed enough to be my Gold Cup pick at the moment.

Olly Murphy, trainer Obviously there were a few disappointments over Christmas. I never thought Lostintranslation looked happy in the King George at Kempton but it’s interesting that they’re giving him a wind operation and I wouldn’t be discounting him.

Derek O'Connor, jockey It’s an open-looking Gold Cup, but Monalee is a horse I have a lot of time for and I think he could be a real player. He just seemed to be idling when Delta Work nabbed him close home in the Savills Chase, but I think he can be even better in a strongly run Gold Cup.
