Missing Luck but Chamberlin and Fitzgerald are solid
Commercial director David Lace gives his thoughts on racing's TV coverage

The coverage on the whole is good, better than I thought it would be. I think the decision to distance themselves from Channel 4 was understandable, but Simon Holt is still the best commentator, why lose that? I was surprised there was no place for Nick Luck, although Ed Chamberlin has proved an excellent anchor man.
There are still improvements to be made around how much time is spent looking at the horses pre-race, but Cheltenham was better. The in-running expert comments are usually good, although sometimes so late in the race they spoil the crescendo you want the race to build to.
Mick Fitzgerald is excellent, as always, Luke Harvey better than I thought, and Matt Chapman does what he does – he will always be a Marmite character. I don’t see the point of Brian Gleeson being there.
