Keeping it simple could prove key - Richard Hoiles provides his ten to follow
Many of the feature races at the Cheltenham Festival last season went to the reigning champions. If you try to be clever with five of your selections and get it wrong you will lose out by not having the likes of Honeysuckle. It's a bit like not having Erling Haaland in Fantasy Premier League team.
You should first concentrate on horses who are best in their divisions and then fill out the stable with novices who need to get experience before the major festivals and often scare other runners off. After you have done that you can then throw in a wildcard at the end.

Another tip is don't touch horses who had problems last season, so gets the vote over Shishkin in the two-mile chase division. and A Plus Tard will likely be forces in the races they won last year and may be kept apart.
The staying hurdle division looks far too difficult so I'll concentrate on two Champion Hurdle horses in and Constitution Hill, who I don't think you can leave out. They are unlikely to meet before the festival and will complete my five championship options.
The novices will include , who goes hurdling. American Mike is another option but he's already had a run so won't need to build up quite so much experience as the season progresses. In the novice chase division I'll go with and Sir Gerhard. They need experience, are likely to scare others off and will have a couple of schooling rounds. You take the chance they will perform well over fences.
One of my offbeat selections is , who I've always liked. He could be a Gold Cup horse but might land a big staying handicap at some point if he doesn't quite reach the highest level. My final choice is , who ran the other day over hurdles. He's still a novice over fences but is quite experienced. I think he'll come on for his first run and I can see him running in handicaps that will earn you points.
