Keeping an eye on the weather as Fidux faces huge ask in Paddy Power Gold Cup

My column returns at just the right time, with the yard on a high after a treble last weekend and the Paddy Power Gold Cup meeting signalling the jumps season has stepped up a level.

Fidux is a possible for the big race on Saturday, although I’m keeping a close eye on the forecast as he wouldn’t want soft ground.

He’s a grand little horse who’s been in great form through the summer, climaxing in winning a decent race at Market Rasen, and he’s run well at Cheltenham over hurdles.
