There is something unconquerable about the Welsh. It is all about pride in nationhood and withstanding everything thrown at them. Usually by the English.

You can hear their defiance in something they do more magnificently than any other nation on the planet. My God, they can sing.

Think of the famous scene in Zulu with Men of Harlech belting out from Rorke's Drift as thousands of assegais are pointed towards the garrison, or that spine-tingling rendition of the Welsh national anthem that crashes round the National Stadium as kick-off looms before a rugby international.
