Jockey takeover: three riders give their thoughts on this week's hot topics
Rachael Blackmore, Johnny Burke and Ciaran Gethings share their opinions
How do you rate Bristol De Mai’s chances in the next two legs of the million-pound bonus?
Rachael Blackmore, jockey
That was an outstanding performance on Saturday but there is a lot of ammunition here in Ireland to travel across the water with, so I’ll go with the same judgement as Paddy Power who quote him at 40-1.
Johnny Burke, jockey
Bristol De Mai was very impressive but he really excelled on that ground when others struggled. It would be a great achievement for the horse and connections if they could pull off the triple crown and it might be a once-in-a-lifetime attempt.
Ciaran Gethings, jockey
He annihilated the field. He’s very good on a flat track and very ground dependent and it would be good to see him translate that form to Cheltenham. The King George is going to be a different test and a lot will depend on what the ground is like there. He’s unbeaten at Haydock, which is flat, and Kempton is also flat but it’s quicker. But he’s a top-class horse.
