You are never too old to learn new tricks – or to teach them in these troubled times. But Paul Hanagan is itching to get back to the day job.

The dual champion jockey has been reinvented in lockdown Malton, where his wife Anna is performing secretarial duties for Richard Fahey from home so he is in charge of educating sons Josh (12) and Sam (nine).

"It's not easy!" he jokes. "I'm near enough a qualified English teacher now, or perhaps English teacher/chef/child psychologist!"
