What has been your finest hour as a trainer?

Winning the Grade 1 Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Santa Anita with Donna Viola in 1996, at a time when British trainers couldn't win anything in California. I had devised a plan and it came to fruition, which was very satisfying.

I'd noticed that around that time there were a lot of British horses going over for the Breeders' Cup, and we'd read fantastic reports about how well they were working when they got there and then they'd run very disappointingly, whereas the French horses that went over did a lot better.
