Inspirational jetsetting sets me up for strong end to the year
There are times like, for example, when you are battling through your daughter's cold, congealed, leftover porridge at 6.30am because eating it is slightly easier than washing up an oat-ravaged bowl, that you can wonder whether life is worth all the hassle it accompanies.
When your feeble human brain starts asking these rash and emphatically foolish questions, what you need is some inspiration. Inspiration can be found – with or without any effort from yourself – in the most unusual places. A Boeing 747, for instance.
Prior to my holiday, I had slipped into mental disarray, a malaise deepened shortly before departure when Lucas Bjerregaard finished alone in sixth place – only two shots off the lead – in the Made In Denmark golf tournament. Erik van Rooyen played the final four holes in three under par to nick fifth spot by a shot.
