More than a little local difficulty

There have been many redundancies within the national newspaper sector but also at regional level, with the Press Gazette estimating a net loss of 198 local newspapers since 2005.

Consequently, racing's presence has reduced, but according to Yorkshire Post racing correspondent Tom Richmond the sport does not always help, particularly in the scheduling of meetings.
