There were many bigger and more important winners this season than Constanzia’s novice auction stakes win at Chelmsford back in June, but perhaps none were more deserving.

The two-year-old filly endured a hellish build-up to the race, with her trainer Jamie Osborne’s yard suffering a catastrophic fire at 4am the morning of the race.
