I'm hoping Haydock gets the go-ahead so I can get properly stuck into Dr Kananga

Haydock could ride to the rescue of jump racing fans on Saturday and I really hope it passes its morning inspection as I fancy Dr Kananga to break smartly from the traps, get on the bunny and make all in the feature Peter Marsh Chase (2.40).

There are only six runners, a much smaller field than is usually the case, and the lack of numbers along with Dr Kananga's ability to handle attritional conditions and his bold jumping make him a decent bet. I really like his profile and will be backing him accordingly.

The Patrick Coyne Memorial Altcar Novices' Chase (12.20) kicks off the card and it’s a straight shootout between Stage Star and Lac De Constance.
