My favourite horse has certainly taken some thinking about, as several hold special memories, but Mecca's Angel just edges it.

Since retiring from the saddle I've ridden work for Michael Dods on Saturdays. As a two-year-old she showed plenty of ability, twice just missing out at Listed level.

She wintered well from two to three and improved again, winning four out of five including a Group 3 at Newbury. However, in the spring of her four-year-old career, having filled out she became the real deal.
