Viv Richards

I saw Viv Richards at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad in 1986. Viv walked out to bat at number five chewing gum, with his maroon cap on. England's Greg Thomas came charging in and bounced the great man who swayed out of the way and his cap fell to the ground, Thomas stood in the middle of the pitch looking rather pleased with himself. The next ball he bowled went sailing back past his head, Viv stood in the middle of the pitch looking rather pleased with himself. I chewed gum almost every time I went out to bat after that.
