News that owners would still be allowed to go racing despite the English lockdown, albeit just two per horse, was one of the more pleasant surprises in a shocking year.

For those running syndicates and clubs, it helped the drive to attract new owners and retain existing ones.

Racehorse ownership has been under the sport’s spotlights since mid-March, when Covid-19 meant a complete shutdown until June.
