Saturday's action is slightly lower key than we have enjoyed over the last week, but the highlight of the day on an excellent Newbury card is the Grade 1 Coral Challow Novices' Hurdle over 2m4f (3.00).

Favourite is the much-vaunted Hermes Allen, who is attempting to follow in the footsteps of his King George-winning stablemate Bravemansgame by taking this coveted prize.

It looks a deeper running than usual and I cannot remember such a big field in this event in recent years.
