'He looks the perfect fit for the race' - Nick Luck joins our panel
David Bass, Danny Mullins and Noel Williams also share their thoughts
Which horse is the one to follow from the Paddy Power Gold Cup?
David Bass, jockey I think Al Dancer is the one to take out of the race. He had a lot of weight and was beaten only four lengths. He travelled really well and I think there could be a big pot in him, especially if he were to stay a bit further than the two miles five furlongs. If he gets three miles I think he’s got the class to win a good race.
Matt Hulmes, Betfred Sky Pirate travelled into the race like a very well treated horse and did incredibly well to stand up when uprooting the tricky second-last. Jonjo O’Neill will certainly find a race for him and I guess he may be back for the December race over the same trip.
Nick Luck, broadcaster It would seem churlish to take anything away from Coole Cody and he may have another handicap in him if he can adopt similar tactics. Happy Diva was probably running close to a career-best and, if she comes out of this okay, I think she might take a bit of beating in the new mares’ chase at the festival.
