At this stage of the season the four best juveniles seen are divided between Jessica Harrington and Ken Condon. The maiden this filly showed plenty of promise in was won so impressively by one of that quartet – Ballot Box’s Albany Stakes-bound stablemate Alpha Centauri.

This filly was being pushed along to go the early pace and it took a while for the penny to drop, but in the last furlong and a half she began to pick up. It was a race full of promise and one would imagine she will be seen to better effect when there are some 7f maidens to tackle.

An ordinary handicapper in Britain for Eve Johnson-Houghton, this son of Rip Van Winkle won a Bath handicap by a wide margin on fast ground last summer and that indicates the sort of surface on which his strengths will lie.
