Happy ending as Harry Topper finds 'fabulous' retirement home at third attempt

Racing – both the industry as a whole and individuals – has worked hard to ensure ex-racehorses enjoy a happy retirement, so it was good to hear another tale with another ending as Harry Topper found his forever home.

Kim Bailey revealed on his website that the 11-year-old, whose career highlights included wins in the Charlie Hall Chase and the Denman Chase, had been found a “fabulous home” after two failed attempts because riders found him unsuitable.

The trainer announced that Harry Topper has been reunited with Kayleigh Thompson, who used to ride him and look after him when she worked at Bailey’s yard.
