If things come in threes, as they say, the final instalment is in the post. Two weeks ago Hector Crouch rode his first four-timer, last week the upwardly mobile apprentice brought home his first winner at Glorious Goodwood. Whatever next?

"It was a very good week," he grins, the memory of it spreading across his face. "It's the best week I've ever had as a jockey. The Goodwood winner still hasn't sunk in, either.
