It may have taken longer than it should have due to some dodgy navigation but it is hard not to smile when you pull up at a racecourse and for the first time in months the car park is actually quite full.
Since June it has been essential personnel only but spectators have been back on course in limited numbers this month and, by the look of a surprisingly busy car park, they can't wait for a spot of midweek jumps action down at Wincanton in scenic south Somerset.
I have no idea what to expect but, having left my Dictaphone and laptop at home, it is time to find out just what you can and can't do as a racegoer stepping back on track under the government guidelines that allow up to 2,000 fans – or 50 per cent of an outdoor venue's normal capacity – to enjoy live action in an area under Tier 2 restrictions.
