What advice would you give your ten-year-old self?
It’s really simple. When you wake up every morning you have to decide whether you want to be miserable or happy. That’s the best piece of advice I can give to anyone.
Where does Gordon Lord Byron rank among the best horses you’ve trained?
Without question he’s the best I’ve ever trained and absolutely nothing else comes within a country mile. He’s introduced me to so many wonderful people and places I may never have seen, giving me thrills I never dreamed of.
He has raced all over the world, which track have you enjoyed visiting most?
I've received great hospitality at many tracks down the years, but it really is hard to beat the welcome one gets in Hong Kong, it’s second to none.
