Expect Springs to sparkle for O'Brien
Duplication
Trainer: Joseph O'Brien
8th, 6f two-year-old maiden, Dundalk, November 18
This is an interesting colt. Although he is nothing special on pedigree, his resale value took a huge leap when he was bought at the breeze-up sales in May for €165,000.
Judging by that, it might be considered surprising he was not seen out until this month, and it was not a great sign to see him wear blinkers for his debut. However, he shaped well enough in a maiden that might produce a few winners.
Never really in the hunt having raced at the back of the field, he was rather slow to get the hang of things but he did start to pick up for pressure from over a furlong out and kept on to good effect.
