Any racing enthusiast will tell you that one of the finest sights in our sport is the best two-mile chasers battling it out in races like the Tingle Creek and Champion Chase.

The need for speed is unparalleled in chase contests over the shortest distance and the spectacle of a half-tonne thoroughbred going flat out from the off and hurtling over a dozen or so fences is something to behold.

They might not offer the instant adrenaline kick provided by a major sprint on the Flat, but the top two-mile chases put people on the edge of their seats in a transfixed state quite like no other races.
