Eat, sleep, win, repeat – Silvestre de Sousa's relentless march to a third crown

A jockey with an irrepressible appetite sounds like a recipe for disaster. Yet it is not a hankering for food that keeps Silvestre de Sousa awake at night, rather an unwavering hunger for winners.
Healthy or otherwise, it is an obsession that has already earned him two Flat jockeys’ championships and, after riding more winners in Britain than any other since the start of May, he is on the cusp of lifting the title for a third time on Saturday.
He may not enjoy the financial comfort or Group-race ammunition associated with a big-money retainer with a major yard but, when others have cried enough, De Sousa bounds on like a Duracell bunny, never tiring of the quest for winners.
