Development of young talent at the heart of exciting new operation
How one of Ireland's youngest and fastest improving trainers has got to where he is now is surely a tale of fate. It would be no surprise if Joseph O'Brien's feet were nestled into stirrups before baby shoes and at the age of just 23 he has already achieved what would take most people a lifetime in racing.
Since switching from the saddle, O'Brien has embraced training with zeal and has already secured his first Group 1 success on the Flat courtesy of Intricately, who just held on to claim the Moyglare Stud Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh.
On the receiving end of that defeat was none other than O'Brien snr, who along with his wife Annemarie, have taught the rookie trainer a large part of what he knows about the sport. In the immediate aftermath of the race, O'Brien snr put into perspective the magnitude of his son's latest achievement.
