Denis Hogan on social media, picking stones and turning up at the wrong funeral
The trainer and jump jockey, 31, takes our weekly grilling
What advice would you give your ten-year-old self?
Eat less and you could be a Flat jockey. If I could go back I'd have tried to mind it better. I could have probably ridden at 9st or less and it might have been an easier lifestyle.
What is your earliest racing memory?
Charlie Swan winning the Galway Plate on Life Of A Lord in 1996. I was there with my parents and Charlie is my next-door neighbour, so to see him win the feature race made a big impression. I was hooked after that.
Would you rather win the Cheltenham Gold Cup or be champion jockey?
The Gold Cup. It's the sport's pinnacle event and to win a Gold Cup you'd happily sacrifice the mileage you'd need to do for all the Ballinrobes or Downpatricks to be champion.
