50 Lethal Force
Sire: Dark Angel - Dam: Land Army
Trainer: Clive Cox
He was no mug at two or three, but this son of the now highly fashionable sire Dark Angel emerged as a Group 1 force in a three-week spell as a four-year-old, when he annexed the Diamond Jubilee and the July Cup under Adam Kirby, both times at the expense of Society Rock, in the July Cup breaking the track record set by Stravinsky. Bought by Clive Cox for just €8,500 as a yearling, he amassed almost £750,000 in prize-money for owner Alan Craddock – also landing the Hungerford Stakes over seven furlongs at three – and ended his career with the champion sprinter accolade in 2013.
