Cost of living crisis and affordability checks hitting profits, reveals Entain

Entain told the City last week that affordability checks were already having an effect on its business, although it added it was hard to calculate how much they were slowing growth given other headwinds it faced.

The owner of Ladbrokes Coral issued a trading update last week which warned that online revenues would be flat this year after being hit by the effect of tougher economic conditions and affordability measures.

More flesh was put on the bone by Entain chief executive Jette Nygaard-Andersen and her deputy and chief financial officer Rob Wood during a call with analysts on Thursday.
