British dominance and Ballydoyle bankers: key Irish Champions Weekend pointers

Irish racing's premier Flat festival is upon us, bringing together a host of domestic and international stars for a tasty prize pot of €4.75 million.

Introduced in 2014, the meeting requires punters to weigh up 16 races across two different racecourses, including six Group 1s, four big-field premier handicaps and a valuable two-year-old sales race. Variety is the order of the weekend.

Last year's Longines-backed bonanza threw up just two winning favourites, one of whom was sent off a meaty 17-2, while there were also winners at 10-1, 11-1, 14-1, 16-1, 18-1, 25-1 and 33-1.
