Racing To School’s Aintree Beacon Programme was given third place in the best non-matchday use of a venue category at the Sports Business Awards in London last week.

The initiative, which has been running for four years, aims to give pupils at schools near the Merseyside racecourse long-term engagement with racing through activities that offer knowledge of the racecourse industry and a variety of career routes.

At the end of its third year, Racing To School announced that more than 1,900 pupils had been involved in the programme.
