Adonis winner Knight Salute will need to find more to trouble Triumph principals
Saturday's Kempton meeting is traditionally one of the last opportunities for festival-bound horses to advertise their Cheltenham claims.
Admittedly, there is now little chance of a repeat of the 1994 meeting, when no fewer than eight festival winners, including five Grade 1 scorers, all ran. The Racing Post Chase, as it was then known, threw up four Cheltenham winners including Gold Cup hero The Fellow, who could finish only third behind Antonin at Kempton.
Desert Orchid, Rhyme 'n' Reason, Bonanza Boy, Docklands Express (twice), Rough Quest, Gloria Victis and Young Spartacus were among a star-studded list of winners of the Racing Post Chase, which was one of the big staying chases of the season.
