What is your earliest racing memory? Watching one of Desert Orchid’s earlier King George wins. I’m riding my grey rocking horse pretending it’s Dessie while he romps to victory and my parents are shouting him home.
What advice would you give to a budding racing presenter?
Smile and read around the form book. Form knowledge is essential but we can get bogged down in it. Broader knowledge is invaluable and will set you apart as a presenter.
Tell us about your career path to your role with Racing TV today
I initially wanted to be an actor but it took a few years struggling in that industry to work out there were too many people better than me! I’d grown up a racing nut and wanted to combine that passion with working on camera. I set up my own website writing articles and recording video previews then transitioned to doing that for Oddschecker. That, after much door knocking, led to an opportunity with Racing UK.
