Amer Abdulaziz Salman is alleged to have sparked fury among the conspirators behind the fake cryptocurrency scam OneCoin as he celebrated Phoenix Thoroughbreds’ first Royal Ascot victory in 2018, according to FBI documents.

Abdulaziz, 56, was named in a New York court this month as allegedly being a key money-launderer for the OneCoin founders, whom it was claimed he then double-crossed, stealing €100 million and setting up Phoenix.

His high-profile appearance at British racing’s most prestigious meeting with all its worldwide coverage caused anger among those he is alleged to have worked for.
