Fantastic Fabre well represented after first forfeit stage for French Guineas
Andre Fabre is responsible for three of the remaining 11 entries for next Monday's Emirates Poule d'Essai des Poulains – France's version of the 2,000 Guineas – after the first forfeit stage on Tuesday morning.
As expected, unbeaten Middle Park winner Earthlight has disappeared from the list as he recovers from a minor injury but Fabre and Godolphin are still represented by Victor Ludorum, who will bid to bounce back from his third in the Prix de Fontainebleau earlier this month.
The two colts who finished in front of Victor Ludorum – The Summit and Ecrivain – both remain on course for the Classic, which has been moved to the straight mile at Deauville after government measures to combat the coronavirus forced the closure of racetracks in and around Paris including Longchamp.
Fabre has also left in Alson, who is no bigger than 16-1 for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas scheduled for Newmarket six days later, as well as Longchamp Listed winner Arapaho.
On the same Deauville card, 16 fillies remain in the Emirates Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, with Fabre again responsible for the ante-post favourite in Prix de la Grotte winner Tropbeau.
Impressive Chantilly winner and general second favourite Simeen also holds an entry, as does Marieta, who was second to the Jessica Harrington-trained Albigna in last October's Prix Marcel Boussac and heads to the Pouliches without a prep run.
