Saint Calvados, among the leading novices over fences last term, could be set for a clash with the mighty Altior in the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase if he runs with credit in Exeter's 118Bet Haldon Gold Cup on his seasonal reappearance in November.

That is the schedule trainer Harry Whittington has mapped out for his stable star, who runs in the colours of Kate and Andrew Brooks.

The five-year-old, who won twice at Newbury before striking at Warwick in the Grade 2 Kingmaker Novices' Chase, was well beaten in the Racing Post Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival, but has thrived for a summer break according to his trainer.
