Ervedya reported in top shape for cosmopolitan Group 1

Runners from South Africa, France, Ireland and Britain make for a cosmopolitan nine-strong field for Saturday's Group 1 Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

While Smart Call, on her way to the Breeders' Cup, represents South Africa, there is strength in numbers behind the French challenge, with last year's French 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes winner Ervedya joined by Prix Rothschild runner-up Volta and the Freddy Head-trained Siyoushake for the £250,000 mile contest.

Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, Ervedya is without a win this year but ran promisingly in third behind Ribchester in the Group 1 Prix Jacques le Marois on her last start and there is confidence behind her bid.
