Epsom remains good but Cooper expects change on dry morning
The going at Epsom remained good on Friday morning but clerk of the course Andrew Cooper warned that the drying conditions could see that description change before racing begins.
Temperatures hit 25 degrees on a dry day on Thursday and there was no rain through the night and into Friday morning at the Surrey venue.
Conditions were described as warm and muggy by Cooper shortly after 7.30 on Friday morning, with racegoers warned of the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon.
"As expected, we've been dry overnight, with quite a heavy dew here this morning," said Cooper.
"In the short term, I'll leave the ground as good but it has dried a bit yesterday and I would anticipate, with a dry day today, going good to firm in places at some point this morning."
Racing at Epsom on Ladies' Day begins at 2.00, with the feature Group 1 Investec Oaks at 4.30.
