Envoi Allen taken out of Irish Champion Hurdle but still in top novice events
Jump racing star Envoi Allen was on Tuesday taken out of the PCI Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown but remains entered in Grade 1 novice hurdles over two miles and two and three-quarter miles at this weekend's Dublin Racing Festival.
The Cheveley Park Stud-owned six-year-old had been entered in the day-one highlight on Saturday but did not feature in the remaining 11 entries that include Honeysuckle, Klassical Dream, Sharjah and Supasundae.
See who could run this weekend:
Envoi Allen is one of 18 entries in the festival opener – the Nathaniel Lacy & Partners-sponsored 2m6f novice hurdle – and among 15 entries in the 2m Chanelle Parma Novice Hurdle on Sunday.
Stablemate Andy Dufresne will not be in action at Leopardstown after being taken out the aforementioned novice hurdles.
Simply Ned and Un De Sceaux are notable omissions from the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase, in which A Plus Tard, Chacun Pour Soi and Min remain in contention.
Leading Gold Cup hopes Delta Work, Kemboy and Presenting Percy were among ten remaining entries for the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup.
Road To Respect, who last week was ruled out for the season, Alpha Des Obeaux and Shattered Love were among the five horses taken out of the €250,000 highlight on day two of the Dublin Racing Festival.
The progressive Chris's Dream, former Gold Cup hero Sizing John and possible British contender La Bague Au Roi also feature, although Warren Greatrex is on weather watch with his star mare.
Greatrex said: "She's a possible runner at Leopardstown but it depends on the weather as the better ground, the better her chance.
"The other option for her is the Denman Chase at Newbury and I couldn’t be happier with her at the moment as she's very well."
Top juvenile Aspire Tower is the standout entry of ten in the Tattersalls Ireland-sponsored Spring Juvenile Hurdle, while Faugheen, Fakir D'Oudairies, Battleoverdoyen, Melon and Laurina are among 12 remaining possible runners in the Flogas Novice Chase.
