'Enthusiastic' Tarnawa delights Weld in lead-up to Breeders' Cup mission

Dermot Weld and the Aga Khan have geared an entire season with Tarnawa around two races at the end of the year and, while her bid for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe came up just short, her trainer reports her to be "moving beautifully" ahead of her trip to the Breeders' Cup in just under two weeks.

In 2020, Tarnawa capped a memorable autumn, which included victories in the Prix Vermeille and the Prix de l'Opera when running away from Magical in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Turf at Keeneland.

This year she has taken in even tougher targets, finishing three-quarters of a length behind St Mark's Basilica in the Irish Champion Stakes and second to Torquator Tasso in the Arc three weeks later.
