Dubai Warrior ready for some sterner battles after impressing in latest work

The hot weather brought out most trainers early, including John Gosden who had this striking son of Dansili as a pathfinder up the Al Bahathri under Danny Harrop. The three-year-old missed the spring and much of the summer due to a foot injury but is now beginning to fulfil his considerable potential. A winner at Kempton three weeks ago, the unbeaten colt has options on turf and the all-weather next month.

The daughter of Shamardal was considered one of the unluckiest losers of the week at Glorious Goodwood when third in the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes and looked fresh from that when powering clear of decent older lead horse Convey on the Al Bahathri. The Khalid Abdullah-owned three-year-old will look for compensation in the Group 3 Atalanta Stakes at Sandown next Saturday, a race her trainer has already won seven times, most recently with Veracious a year ago.

The temperatures were hitting 20C by 8am so Simon Crisford was out early to use the watered gallop where he gave some of his upcoming runners a nice blow. This son of Dawn Approach was unlucky to run into First In Line on his belated reappearance at Doncaster this month.
