‘Dream is very much alive’ as Pat Fahy aims Castlegrace Paddy at Leopardstown
Pat Fahy has proclaimed the dream to be “very much alive” with Castlegrace Paddy, fresh from the seven-year-old’s runaway victory in the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase at Cork on Sunday, and pointed to the Grade 1 Paddy's Rewards Club Sugar Paddy Chase over two miles at Leopardstown on December 27 as the next port of call for his exciting prospect.
Sunday’s task was made easier for Castlegrace Paddy when hot favourite Great Field exited at the second fence, but Fahy believes his horse is on the up and is looking forward to testing the water against Grade 1 opposition.
He said: “The plan is to go to Leopardstown for the Grade 1 and then you’d have to think about the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown again, and maybe even Cheltenham if he performed well there. The dream looks to be very much alive with him.”
