Defrocked set for switch to Hong Kong
Osborne predicts brights future for Britannia winner in Far East
Jamie Osborne predicts that his Royal Ascot winner Defrocked will next year grow into a true Group 1 performer following his sale to Hong Kong.
Osborne was sorry to see last month’s Britannia Handicap winner leave his Lambourn stables for his new home yesterday, but he understands the economics of owning racehorses and wishes new connections well.
He said: “He'll continue his career in Hong Kong under the care of Peter Ho, and while it’s always disappointing to lose such a good horse I’m delighted for Michael Buckley and Michael Watt, who were 50-50 partners in the horse and had a lot of fun with him in a short space of time. It has been a profitable exercise for them, and they are owners who always reinvest.”
