Impressive Vintage Stakes winner Dark Vision, who earned quotes of 16-1 for next year's Qipco 2,000 Guineas after extending his unbeaten record to three, has been purchased by Godolphin but will remain in training with Mark Johnston.

The son of Dream Ahead cost just 15,000gns as a yearling and raced in the colours of the Kingsley Park 10, a partnership set up by Johnston.

Johnston said on Friday: "Dark Vision has been sold to Godolphin and will be staying with us. He was vetted yesterday and we are currently waiting on some blood tests which should be known on Monday, but this is just routine.

"I'm not sure which colours he'll be racing in – whether it's the all-blue or those of Sheikh Mohammed's son [carried by Dee Ex Bee] – but we'll have a sit down and chat with the new owners about where the horse will run next.

"Possible targets include the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh and the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket, which is sponsored by Darley."

Johnston has also won the Vintage Stakes with subsequent 2,000 Guineas winner Mister Baileys, Lucky Story and Shamardal.

Shamardal was purchased by Godolphin and won a trio of Group 1s at three for Saeed Bin Suroor.
